GPHL has become the first company to enter the Fortune Global 500 with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) as its major business. It ranked 468th by revenue and 390th by profit on Fortune's annual list of the top 500 corporations worldwide, making a breakthrough for the TCM business.

The Group has received more than 300 congratulatory letters from all circles, such as the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, Guangdong provincial government, Guangzhou municipal government, and Nobel laureate Ferid Murrad.

On October 19th representatives of GPHL, attended the 2021 Fortune Global 500 Summit in Hangzhou.

According to the Chinese Pharma 2021 report, released by Brand Finance, GPHL sat in 19th in the ranking of the world's most valuable pharma brands and claimed the top spot on the list of the most valuable TCM brands. The Group also moved up in the ranking of the China Top 500 Enterprises, ranking 129th, and has topped the list of China's Top 100 TCM Companies for 10 consecutive years. GPHL's listed arm Guangzhou Baiyunshan Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Baiyunshan for short) earned a grade of A in the MSCI ESG Ratings.


To speed up the globalization of TCM, GPHL has participated in a variety of events, such as the plaque unveiling ceremony for the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao Intensive Cooperation Zone, 2021 China International Fair for Trade in Services, 4th Belt and Road Forum for Traditional Chinese Medicine Development, 2021 International (Bozhou) TCM Expo, 2021 China Pharmaceutical Enterprises Co-operation and Development Organization Summit, and 130th China Import and Export Fair. It has also accelerated 'trendy TCM' brands to go global, for example, by launching the global version of Ganoderma Lucidum Spore Oil.





The Guangzhou General Pharmaceutical Research Institute has obtained all 9 GLP certifications. Caizhilin's subsidiary, Guangdong Hanchao TCM Technology Co., Ltd., is a CMA (China Metrology Accreditation) accredited company.

The Baiyunshan Hospital has further improved the strength of the Group's 'Great Health Care' segment by recruiting TCM master Xuan Guowei and expert teams from the 157 Medical Group, such as obstetrics and gynecology expert Guo Huiping.


The Group has joined hands with the Nanfang Hospital to open its first postpartum care centre, Guangzhou Baiyunshan Runkang Postpartum Care Club, providing comprehensive gynecological and obstetric services with TCM as a feature. GPHL subsidiary Baiyunshan Yihu has developed an AI-powered mattress and worked with the White Swan Hotel to explore a new lifestyle for healthy travel.


GPHL's expired medication take-back program has lasted for 18 years. The program has reached more than 200 cities in China, with more than 600 million participants and more than 1,500 tons of expired drugs collected.

In July 2021 China's Henan province was affected by severe flooding and other disasters caused by prolonged heavy rainfall. On July 26th GPHL, with the help of the Guangzhou Charity Association, offered 5 million RMB worth of donations to support the flood-control and relief efforts in Henan.


To help build a community of common destiny for all mankind, GPHL donated 300,000 RMB worth of COVID-19 supplies to the Pacific island nation Fiji.

At the groundbreaking ceremony for the Lingnan TCM Museum, Guangdong governor Ma Xingrui, Guangzhou mayor Wen Guohui, academic He Jingtang, and TCM masters Xuan Guowei and Zhou Daihan jointly launched the museum project.

GPHL's 12 time-honoured brands have been showcased in the 'Imperial Medicine Museum', an exhibition launched at the Yonghe Palace by the Palace Museum, through which the visitors could learn about the Lingnan TCM culture.

The Caizhilin Intangible Culture Experience Museum has also opened. In the museum, the Caizhilin Fashion TCM Culture Exhibition and a photo show about the centurial history of TCM culture under the leadership of the CPC showed a holistic picture of the heritage and development of TCM culture.
